1st percentile - woop!

Yesterday we ventured to the Cardiologist. Such a big word for such a tiny baby girl! Thankfully, although the murmur isn't gone, the Dr. thought that it had already started to close based on the minimal sound. We're heading back in 2 months and at that point he'll do a sonogram to really see the progress. Overall, he said that based on the good results from her EKG and that she's gaining weight (double digits now!) he doesn't suspect this will ever cause her a problem. Good thing because mom and dad are expecting big things from such a big girl! Tennis and golf lessons to begin shortly...

We had to giggle though when the Dr. told us that only 1% of babies born in the United States have a heart defect...unfortunatley Finley falls within this 1%. We're always joking how parents are bragging about their kid in the 98th percentile for height/weight/etc. and yet no one ever tells you if they're in the 10th percentile, right?!

So here goes...we're in the 1st percentile. There I said it.

No worries, the nurse said she's almost "off the charts" for height and weight. You've probably heard that one before too, but I couldn't just leave my baby girl in the 1st percentile for too long :)

All dressed up for the heart doc

Morgan had a heart murmur and heart defect for the first year of her life. We went back in to the cardiologist on her first year birthday week for the EKG and sono....and all had closed on its own. DISCHARGED. But they warned me that she could have had an innocent murmur all her life and just because she was discharged doesn't mean it could never come back. So we will keep praying that its innocent enough and will close on its on, but don't get discourages if by her 6 month appt its still there as Morgans was. Give it and God time to do the work.

She is precious.
